Doug,
along with David Martí, Montse Ribé and the crew
of DDT Efectos Especiales took a couple of days off from
filming Serge Gainsbourg: Vie Héroïque
in Paris and travelled by train to join colleagues at IMATS where
they were part of one of the highlights of the show - the Hellboy
II: The Golden Army panel, which included Oscar™-nominated
Mike Elizalde of Spectral Motion, Simon Webber, one of
Doug's make-up artists on the film, Iván Pohárnok
of Hungary's FilmFX, make-up artist and sculptor Anthony
Parker, Leo Burton and Cliff Wallace of Britain's Creature
Effects. There was also a surprise visit by Oscar-nominated
Thom Floutz, who was delighted to meet with friends and colleagues
at the show.
Doug also had the chance to meet
students of the art of film make-up and design, especially a very
talented bunch of young artists from the University of Bolton's
SFX course, who were keen to talk to Doug about portfolios and
the pros and cons of working in the film industry.
The Doug Jones Experience
would like to thank everyone who sent in photographs, and also
for their kindness and generosity towards not only Doug but also
Webmaster Helen, who attended the show to see the HBII panel.
Thanks, guys. You made an already amazing day into a very
special experience.
