I can finally tell you what I'm doing here in Paris, France!
Well, sort of. Tuesday, January 20th marks my first
day filming in the highly anticipated biography picture about
the life of French iconic singer/songwriter Serge Gainsbourg
titled SERGE GAINSBOURG: Vie Héroïque
(A Heroic Life), in a production relationship with One
World Films and my beloved Universal Pictures (who has
been so good to me over the years with such movies as
Mystery Men, Rocky & Bullwinkle,
Doom, and of course Hellboy II: The Golden
Army). Directed by celebrated comic book writer/artist
Joann Sfar. Click on the link to my Filmography
page on Serge to

I am here in Paris until
the end of April performing a role in the film that I
am not allowed to talk about, unfortunately. I know,
so not fair. But I can tell you it involves a stunning
prosthetic make-up, created and applied by my Oscar-winning
team from Pan's Labyrinth -- DDT Efectos Especiales
from Spain. I know what you're thinking ... "a
prosthetic make-up in a bio pic?" You're just
going to need to trust me here. All will be revealed
in due time. This movie is different than anything
I've done, and I am tickled pink to be working in the
French cinema with all its history and artistic license.
This is in the French language,
and I am the only American actor in it, spending lots
of pre-production time working with a piano coach and
a French language coach to help me with my dialogue
... remember Pan's Labyrinth in Spanish?
I feel like I'm getting my PHD in foreign film acting.
Talk about a challenge. My little head hurts.
I hope to be blogging, but
may have to wait a smidge to put up all of it,
as I can't let specific movie news out just yet.
Thank you for your patience,
and for all your support! I see every one of you
in the lens of the camera, and it gives me the energy
I need to finish the day. God Bless You.
