Rotsko on Doug Jones
The place in Texas I grew the most fond of was a junk yard called
Daley Salvage in the town of Columbus. Columbus is an interesting
burgh whose most well known landmark is the "hangin' tree"
which saw the last triple lynching in the U.S. The salvage yard
itself is a bit of a social hub for the town and hosts a cast of
characters that no sitcom writer could ever dream up. I of course
had to take Doug there during his visit and I doubt he'll be forgetting
the experience any time soon.
This photo is rather macabre and shows a little of my twisted side.
I got Doug to hold up a sheet and then informed him that it was
used to shield bodies from view after a recent fatal car crash.
Some of us never grow up.
