Six
strangers awaken in a white room with no visible way out. They
quickly realize that they are part of a bizarre experiment whose
outcome could change the face of humanity forever.

Roddenberry Entertainment,
the legendary pioneer in science fiction, who brought the world
Star Trek, is bringing innovation to a whole new level
in their production for film WHITE ROOM: 02B3.
WHITE ROOM: 02B3 will transport the audience into 360
degrees of intensity through Social Animal’s camera system
consisting of nine 2K cameras, capturing a high quality panoramic
video with no gaps or distortion. Of course, along with the benefits
of the immersive technology that could be seen as the next step
after 3D, this 360° technology also brings its challenges.
The script has to incorporate relevant information for characters
who would normally be off camera, and every actor in the room
has to be in character while the camera is rolling with very few
opportunities to cut. Director, Greg Aronowitz, has to direct
six actors with nine cameras, all rolling simultaneously.
“Roddenberry has always been a pioneer in pushing the envelope,
and broadening the scope of entertainment,” Greg Aronowitz
says of the challenge. “They've given me an amazing opportunity
to be one of the first directors to navigate the challenges of
creating a 360 degree narrative film.”
“Because we follow in footsteps of a luminary like Gene
Roddenberry, we recognize science fiction as a methodology via
which we can explore the human condition from every potential
angle,” says executive producer Rod Roddenberry of the project.
“It, therefore, feels fitting that with White Room: 02B3,
we are literally pushing cinematic boundaries by providing a 360
degree view of our characters and our story for audiences to experience
and enjoy.”
From major film and television stars Breckin Meyer, Tamlyn Tomita,
David Blue and Rachel True, to Internet icons Tony Janning and
Milynn Sarley, the cast of WHITE ROOM: 02B3 spans a wide
range of talent who are thrilled to be a part of methodological
and technological history. “They are all interacting through
ground-breaking technology,” says Aronowitz. “It brings
an exciting amount of energy to the project.”
Roddenberry Entertainment plans to premiere the film at festivals
in 2012, then launch it as an immersive cinematic trailblazer
in 360° domes around the country and as an interactive experience
online.
